Located in the far southeastern corner of Lozère, the commune of Saint-Martin de Boubaux encompasses a significant portion of the Galeizon valley. This valley boasts a Mediterranean climate and features landscapes characteristic of the high Cévennes: dense chestnut forests, terraced fields on the slopes, and numerous streams cascading down ravines.

The Cure
Slightly removed from the main village, the former Cure of Saint-Martin-de-Boubaux sits on a hilltop. The site comprises a church, presbytery, school, and a barn.
It was here in 1889 that Abbé Pourcher, the parish priest from 1873 to 1900, wrote, printed, and published his infamous "History of the Beast of Gévaudan" on a restored press.
