An authentic and unique mining work in France, this exceptional testimony to the Cévennes mining history is an ancient apprenticeship, which has trained generations. Today a place of social and industrial memory, the Alès Witness Mine offers a discovery or rediscovery of the mine, its people and its history.
At the foot of the headframe opens the cage, which invites you to dive into the impressive world of the blackmouths. Narrated from start to finish, the 700 meters of galleries present a striking retrospective of coal mining history from 1880 to the present day.
