A joyful, multicultural community dance, where folk dances, Creole songs and Caribbean rhythms come together to celebrate what we have in common.
The Compagnie du Bayou invites everyone to join in the dancing, whether you’re a beginner or an experienced dancer. Here, folk dances meet Creole and Caribbean songs: bourrées, mazurkas, contredanses, waltzes, cirandas, rondes and farandoles intertwine to the sound of voices, the accordion, percussion, the clarinet and the flugelhorn. Led by Alexandra Satger, this participatory dance event builds bridges between folk traditions from here and elsewhere, from the Caribbean to the Haitian countryside, from Creole Poitou to the Maloya of Gascony. A warm and lively occasion to celebrate what we have in common, share the rhythms and let our bodies invent their own celebration together.
Food available on site from a food truck from 7.00 pm.
Concert co-organised in Pont-de-Montvert with the Passe-Montagne rural community centre and the Cévennes EPCI in Mont-Lozère.
