As part of Documentary Film Month, the Pont-de-Montvert – Sud Mont Lozère library invites you to discover *Girl Culture*, a sensitive documentary that follows the daily lives of teenage girls at a pivotal moment in their lives. An evening dedicated to discussion and reflection on adolescence, equality and self-discovery.
Before the screening, make the most of the ‘Chez Rui’ food truck to grab a bite to eat on the spot. The evening will continue with the traditional drinks reception.
Following the screening, there will be a discussion session organised in collaboration with the CIDFF de Lozère (Centre for Information on Women’s and Families’ Rights). This session will provide an opportunity to discuss the themes raised in the film: adolescence, identity formation, equality between girls and boys, gender stereotypes and respect for everyone.
Synopsis: They are 13 years old and are starting Year 8. Over the course of a school year, *Girl Culture* follows these teenage girls through their first experiences, their doubts, their friendships, their dreams and the many changes that come with this stage of life.
Through their personal reflections and everyday lives, the film offers a highly insightful exploration of issues relating to identity formation, self-perception, relationships with others and society’s expectations of young girls.
A documentary that is at once tender, funny and profound, offering an authentic voice to a generation in the midst of change.
