Discover a secluded valley, far from the main roads, perfectly capturing the unique atmosphere of the high Cévennes valleys on the Mediterranean side. From the mill to the cluster of houses halfway up the slope, the path climbs in the shade of holm oaks and chestnut trees, in the cool respite of the valley floor. This walk offers an opportunity to understand how the people of the Cévennes have managed and valued this environment. From the art of building to hydraulic engineering, all the elements of the traditional organization of space are explored in this remarkably preserved site.
Practical Advice
TRAIL CURRENTLY CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC. In summer, this trail is best hiked in the morning. Sections can be slippery in wet weather. The route you will follow crosses several private properties. Please stay on the marked trail. Its availability is at your discretion. Horse riding and mountain biking are not permitted or suitable on the interpretive trails.
