In a typical Cevennes hamlet, in the house of Camisard Rolland, the Musée du Désert presents in 15 rooms the history of Protestantism, the Revocation of the Edict of Nantes (1685) to the revolution: the life and the persecutions of the clandestine church of the "Desert", the war of the Camisards, the flight of the Huguenots to the countries of the Refuge, the fate of the galley slaves and prisoners for the faith. Through its 15 rooms, the Desert Museum presents notably Cevennes furniture, the reconstitution of a Cévennes vigil, weapons, maps of the Cévennes war, an important collection of engravings and paintings (the Protestant painters of the Protestant history), posters of the royal power, pulpits, cups of the Last Supper, etc ...
