In the Middle Ages the Knights of Malta, known as the Hospitallers, set up a commandery to manage a large part of the land on Mont Lozère.

The hamlet called Hôpital is worth a visit for its typical architecture of the Mont Lozère with, among other things, an old water mill with a thatched roof. 200 m out of the hamlet, the GR7 indicates the Tarn bridge on the right.

The place is magical, the first real bridge over the Tarn is perfect for picnics and meditation...
